Simon plays Solo cornet in the Fellowship band, and follows in the footsteps of his father and grandfather in his love of the music of the Salvation Army.

Having first learned to play trumpet, he enjoyed the opportunity to practice with Plumstead S.A band in his teens, and then went on to play in various brass bands, including the Royal Doulton band, while living in the northwest and qualifying as a clinical psychologist.

He moved south in 1985, and lives in Portsmouth with his wife Caroline. Simon enjoys walking, cooking and reading history.
